DAY PROGRAM
Youth in grades K–12 can enjoy enriching daytime programs designed to inspire creativity and exploration across the arts, languages, and enrichment subjects.
This is a full day arts enrichment course. The morning starts with an hour of yoga and meditation for all the students (grades K-12) together. Then the students break into age groups and work on an art project that also supports learning in a core subject—following the Oak Meadow arts-based learning projects. After a break for lunch, the students participate in an hour of amazing active drama instruction with instructor Justin Zsebe and an hour of fun language arts instruction with Marcia Winn, both geared for the age group. The students participate in both individual and group creation and projects. Note: There are multiple instructors, but we can only list a lead at this time.
This arts enrichment course lasts a full semester but may be paid in installments.
MUSIC LESSONS
Private and group music classes taught by highly skilled instructors, the ArtsTech Academy offers instruction for both youth and adults on a wide range of orchestral and band instruments.
Private music lessons are available youth and adults in piano, saxophone, violin, viola, cello, acoustic guitar, flute, percussion, or voice. A special Keyboard/Piano II class taught by Beinn Stewart (Assistant Maestro of the Joshua Tree Philharmonic and who holds a bachelor’s degree in music education) is available for students who already have experience with piano/keyboard technique.
ACTING + THE THEATER LAB
Welcome to Theater Lab with Justin Zsebe! Get ready to jump into the wild, wonderful world of theater! In this class, you’ll explore the basics of storytelling, acting, and performance—learning how to create bold characters, build scenes from scratch, and bring stories to life on stage (and maybe even off of it!).
Justin has spent over 20 years directing immersive shows, teaching theater at UCLA and West LA College, and leading workshops across the country—from Shakespeare festivals to commedia dell’arte mask work to modern, interactive performance. He’s also run a Shakespeare company for all ages and developed original site-specific plays with students just like you.
Whether you’re brand new to the stage or already dreaming of Broadway, this class is about jumping in, taking creative risks, and learning by doing. Together, we’ll laugh, move, imagine—and discover what makes theater such a powerful way to share your voice.
Beginning Hip-Hop
This high-energy class introduces students to the foundations of hip-hop dance through age-appropriate movement, athletic drills, and beginner-friendly choreography. Students will learn the techniques that shape hip-hop—including rhythm, coordination, strength, and freestyle basics—while building confidence and creativity. Designed for youth with little or no prior experience, the class emphasizes safe and fun movement, teamwork, and self-expression in a supportive environment.
Rhythmic Movement (younger children)
This class introduces children to organized movement and having fun moving to various rhythms. This is an active class created to allow children to express themselves through dance-like movement.
LANGUAGE ARTS
FRENCH + SPANISH
Learn French and Spanish with our fun and talented instructor, Marcia Winn, who brings enthusiasm, experience, and a love of languages to every class! Using the internationally acclaimed La Jolie Ronde course materials, students are introduced to French and Spanish through engaging songs, games, stories, and activities that make language learning fun and accessible. This award-winning program is designed specifically for young learners and provides a strong foundation in vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural awareness.
Classes are held in a small group setting, allowing each student to receive individual attention and support while gaining confidence in speaking and understanding both languages. The intimate environment encourages participation, fosters creativity, and ensures steady progress. Whether your student is brand new to French and Spanish or continuing their language journey, these classes provide the perfect combination of structured learning and joyful exploration that inspires a lifelong passion for languages.
APPLICATIONS
Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, and class sizes will be limited. Minimum class sizes also may be required and classes not meeting those minimums may be cancelled—with a full refund to those enrolled. Enrollment is not complete without payment or a Charter School Purchase Order Confirmation. Except in special circumstances, there are no mid-semester cancellations once your spot is reserved through enrollment and payment. In most circumstances, your registration and acceptance is a semester-long commitment, without which we can not efficiently manage class sizes and first-come-first-served enrollment. We may allow a student to transfer to a different class/instrument if we can accommodate the change. WE ARE AN APPROVED VENDOR FOR iLead, Granite Mountain, Compass, River Springs, Suncoast Preparatory Academy, and Taylion Academy charter schools, but you MUST complete this registration and we will bill against the purchase order your student’s teacher will set up for your account.
Most courses have specific age/grade requirements (or advance permission by the instructor), so please read each description thoroughly when enrolling for courses. If you are requesting to register a student for a class outside of the listed age range, please email or call us first to get permission.
Please note that some class locations, times, and durations have changed from last year. Also there are new course offerings!
